Leo James Davis, a young Brooklyn based actor, was six years old when his debut film hit screens last summer.

The rising star played the lead role in A Kid Like Jake, appearing opposite Hollywood stars Claire Danes, Jim Parsons, Octavia Spencer, and Priyanka Chopra in Silas Howard’s acclaimed drama about a family coming to terms with their child being transgender. It’s understood Davis drew on his own experience for the role; although not transgender, his parents say he identifies as ‘gender expansive’, and always preferred pink, Barbies and dresses to typically ‘macho’ things. His acting credits don’t stop at A Kid Like Jake, as last month he appeared in an episode of Escape At Dannemora, the Ben Stiller-directed TV series which racked up several award nominations this season. Davis has since turned his hand to modelling, selected by Virgil Abloh to appear in Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer 2019 campaign.
